Product Description:

General information
Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect. It also has a mild drying effect, which allows excess oils and dirt to be easily washed away from the skin.
Directions
Benzac AC is usually applied one to three times daily. Apply benzoyl peroxide to the areas of your skin affected by acne. Avoid getting this medication into your eyes, inside your nose or mouth, or on any areas of broken skin since it may cause irritation. If this occurs, flush the area with plenty of water. Benzoyl peroxide may bleach hair or fabrics. Use carefully, and avoid contact with hair, clothing, and furnishings.
Precautions
Before using this product for the first time, check if you are allergic to it. To check, put a small amount on one or two small areas of acne for three days. This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.
Contraindications
You should not use benzoyl peroxide if you are allergic to it, or if you have a very sensitive skin.
Possible side effect
The most common side effects are peeling, itching, irritation, and reddened skin. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
Drug interactions
Benzac AC can interact with dapsone used on the skin.
Missed dose
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine.
Storage
Store your medicines at room temperature between 15-30 C (59-86 F). Store away from moisture and light.
